Our Fees – Simple, All-Inclusive Childcare

Building confident learners through Awe and Wonder

At The Redbrick Day Nursery, our fees are designed to make life easier for families. We offer a genuinely all-inclusive service, so once your child is with us, there’s very little else for you to think about.

Our session prices include meals, snacks, nappies, wipes, activities and experiences, meaning you can confidently drop and go, knowing your child is fully cared for, nurtured and supported throughout their day.

We believe childcare costs should be clear, predictable and transparent, which is why our fees are structured to avoid unexpected extras and provide consistency for families throughout the year.

Please see the session options below for current prices.
Funding information and detailed breakdowns are available in the Funded Fees section.

If you’d ever like help understanding which option works best for your family, our team will always be happy to talk it through.

Schedule of Fees

Government Childcare Funding Entitlements

The Government provides funded childcare for eligible families.

From September 2025, working parents of children aged 9 months and above may be eligible for up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week (over 38 weeks per year). This funding may also be delivered as a stretched offer across 51 weeks of the year.

Funding is allocated annually as follows:

15 Hour Entitlement = 570 funded hours per year
30 Hour Entitlement = 1140 funded hours per year

When stretched across 51 weeks, this equates to approximately:

·       11 funded hours per week (15 hour entitlement)

·       22 funded hours per week (30 hour entitlement)

At The Redbrick Day Nursery, funded hours are delivered across 51 weeks of the year and allocated within your chosen attendance pattern.

Eligibility is determined by HMRC. Parents are responsible for applying for and renewing eligibility codes every three months. Codes apply from the term following your child’s birthday.

We recommend applying early, as session availability may become limited.

Accessing Your Funding

The eligibility criteria for working parents are available on the Government website. It is the parents’ responsibility to verify eligibility through HMRC and provide the nursery with a valid eligibility code. This code must be renewed every three months to maintain funding. Please note that codes apply to the term following your child’s birthday. We encourage families to enquire about funded spaces as early as possible, as specific sessions tend to fill up quickly.

Our Recommended Option: All Inclusive Packages

Most families choose one of our All Inclusive packages.

These packages:

·       Secure your child’s sessions across the full 51 weeks of the year

·       Allocate your funded entitlement within your chosen attendance pattern

·       Include food, consumables and enrichment activities

·       Provide a clear, fixed monthly fee

·       Guarantee continuity of childcare

Your funded hours are shown on your invoice at no cost. The remaining balance reflects enhanced services and any additional hours selected.

This approach provides stability, transparency and simplicity. It avoids termly changes to sessions and ensures your child’s place is protected throughout the year. This is our most secure and consistent childcare option.

How We Deliver Funding

We are required to clearly show how funded hours are allocated and how additional services are charged.

At The Redbrick Day Nursery:

·       Funded hours are delivered completely free of charge.

·       Additional hours outside of funded delivery are charged.

·       Food, consumables and enrichment activities are optional.

·       Parents may opt out of additional services if they wish.

Where families choose an enhanced or all-inclusive package, these additional services are bundled together at a discounted monthly rate.

Families who wish to access funded hours only may choose stand-alone funded session patterns, detailed later in this document. These sessions are allocated on a termly basis and are subject to availability.

Flexible Funded Packages (Enhanced Stretched Offer)

For families who would like flexibility in choosing their attendance pattern, we offer our Flexible 15 and Flexible 30 packages.

These packages:

·       Deliver your funded entitlement across 51 weeks of the year

·       Allow you to select from the session patterns shown in the tables below

·       Combine funded hours with additional hours where required

·       Include food, consumables and enrichment activities within the monthly fee

·       Provide a guaranteed place across the year

Funding is allocated annually:

·       Flexible 15 – 570 funded hours per year

·       Flexible 30 – 1140 funded hours per year

When stretched across 51 weeks, this equates to approximately:

·       11 funded hours per week (Flexible 15)

·       22 funded hours per week (Flexible 30)

The session pattern selected determines how those funded hours are distributed across the week and how many additional hours are included.

Transparency of Charges

To remain fully compliant with funding guidance, we show our pricing in a detailed format. This allows parents to understand:

·       Which hours are funded

·       Which hours are paid

·       What additional services cost

·       How monthly fees are calculated

You may either:

1.      Choose one of our All Inclusive packages (most popular), or

2.      Build your own package using the hourly and daily component charges detailed below.

While the tables may appear detailed, the simplest route for most families is an All Inclusive package, which combines funded hours and enhanced services into one clear monthly figure.

Tax Free’ Childcare Accounts

Working parents of children aged under 12 can use Tax-Free Childcare, through the childcare service account, to pay for registered childcare. The Government top-up the money that parents pay into the account i.e. for every £8 parents pay in, the Government will add an additional £2. Parents can receive £2,000 per child per year, or £4,000 if disabled. Visit https://www.gov.uk/tax-free-childcare to find out more about eligibility and the scheme. We advise parents to ensure they have read all the advice in relation to what is best for them and whether they should move from an existing scheme. The Redbrick Day Nursery will not be held responsible in any way if your choice results in changes to your eligibility for other benefits or childcare costs support.

Best Start in Life

The Best Start in Life website will guide you through your options. It provides access to the application process for the childcare accounts and the 30-hour entitlement - make sure you are ticking the correct boxes for you. Eligibility for all this and the 30 hours is determined by HMRC, and parents should check their own eligibility through the relevant government website. The website Best Start in Life offers you the opportunity to compare what is best for your family.

*This pattern must include a Monday or a Friday.

**This pattern must include a Monday and a Friday.

These sessions are offered as stand-alone sessions and cannot be taken in conjunction with other sessions.

For all these sessions attendance is monitored to ensure the full government entitlement is being used effectively. Should we find the entitlement is being underused (because you have collected early or arrived late) you may be subject to additional charges if funding is removed by the local authority. We ask that you respect the times booked and do not attempt to claim these government funds fraudulently.

Build your Own Package

Because the government want us to be completely transparent about all our charges over and above the funded hours then this naturally makes for a complex set of tables that allow us to detail every aspect of our charges to you so that you can understand which hours are funded and which hours you need to pay for. You can work out any of our prices by calculating and adding together the relevant component parts. You can choose the hours based on the offers we have in our tables below and then add in the daily activities, food and consumables to suit.

What are Consumables?

Consumables are everything that we use in the nursery to provide for the children’s care needs. As the name suggests, this refers to those things that we use and need replacing from time to time. This might include tissues, toilet roll, food play, cooking materials, science resources, although some of the latter items may also count as activities. It is hard to separate every item individually.

What are Activities Charges?

As the name suggests this is for many of the activities that we do with children because they enhance and enrich their experience of life. This includes buying in resources for specific religious or international festivals such as Easter, Diwali, Passover, Eid, Christmas, Chinese New Year to name but a few. These costs also cover such things as the gifts we might send home for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter, Christmas, Valentines Day and many others. It also includes the local trips out that we do, the provision of activities such as yoga, music, football & drama that enrich the children’s learning and development. These items vary from week to week and term to term. However, we do ensure all children take part in a large variety of these and we have an averaged daily charge to cover these.

Do I have to pay these charges?

No, you are free to opt-out of all or some additional charges. You are at liberty to request that your child does not take part in any additional activities or use the resources bought under the consumables section and we will do our best to exclude them from these things. However, as these are all items that sit clearly outside of the EYFS provision we also ensure that their basic EYFS provision is not compromised in any way. Where you choose to opt-out of all or some of the additional charges you will need to adhere to our Food Provision Policy and the Consumables and Activities Contribution Policy, copies of which can be found on www.theredbrickdaynursery.co.uk

Our places are available for 51 weeks of the year and these prices are charged for every day, including bank holidays as we have an equalised billing system. This is to allow our nursery software to evenly distribute your fees each month. If we did not do it this way, then the daily fees would be higher per day and your billing would be very different in each month. As an example, if we did not charge equally for each day the consumables and activities daily rate might be £9 to £10 per day.

Fee Terms & Conditions

Administration Fees £75 per Nursery child

Payment of your Administration Fee guarantees your place and entitles you to our programme of Settling Visits as per our Settling Policy. We always recommend children attend at least one settling visit to allow them to familiarise themselves with their carers and surroundings. No Administration Fee is required for Funded Only children, and they will take their settling visits during their usual funded hours.

We reserve the right to charge a Refundable Deposit of £75 for Just 15 or Just 30 places.

Fees

Nursery fees are payable for 51 weeks of the year, which includes for up to 2 training days and bank holiday closures, with the exception of Christmas week. Six weeks’ notice of leaving is required, or six week’s fees in lieu of notice may be paid. For children receiving grant funding this notice period is extended to up to one term’s notice, but should always be at the end of a term

Allocation of Places

Our Admissions Policy outlines in further detail our allocation of places

Snacks, Lunch & Refreshments

Breakfast, mid-morning and afternoon snacks, hot lunches with a pudding and refreshments are included within the daily inclusive fees.

Parents may supply packed lunches if they prefer but no reduction in Fees is allowed where this is included in the price for the place. You must adhere to our Provision of Food Policy. Where we have a severe allergy, we reserve the right to refuse foods and ask you to have our hot lunch.

Additional Hours

Where additional hours are required, these may be booked at £17.50 per hour unless otherwise priced within the Schedule of Fees. A minimum of 1 hour is charged.

Late Collection/Non-booked hours

Where you are late in collecting your child from any session and you have not pre-booked additional hours then a fee of £20.00 per 15 minutes will be charged.

Invoicing

Invoices are produced each month based on these prices.  All invoices are now emailed to parents.  It is your responsibility to inform us if an invoice has not been received.  Late payment charges will still be applied if payment is not on time, irrespective whether you have received an invoice or not.

Late Fees Charges

All fees are due by the 1st of the month. Where fees are not paid by this date a Late Payment Charge of £25 per child per month will be applied. This is detailed further in the Registration Form & Parental Agreement. We follow a strict policy to recover any debts that may result in exclusion if payments are not made on time.

Subject to our General Terms & Conditions as laid out in our Registration Form & Parental Agreement, a condensed version of which is below. To see full version, please request a registration form.

Terms & Conditions are subject to change without prior notice.

I understand that if I require a copy of this personal information, I must make a request in writing. I agree to be contacted via email for the purposes of nursery business.

8.       I understand that the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 places a duty on the staff to follow specific child protection procedures should any concerns be made and that there is a Safeguarding Children Policy available for me to view at any time.

This agreement must be signed by all persons with Parental Responsibility and/or those who are accepting responsibility for paying fees. Your childcare may only commence once payment of the first invoice, or a minimum of one month’s fees has been made.
