Our Curriculum – Learning Through Awe and Wonder

Building confident learners through Awe and Wonder

At Redbrick Day Nurseries in Northampton, we believe children learn best through play, exploration and meaningful experiences in environments where they feel happy, secure and valued. Our curriculum is guided by our ethos of learning through awe and wonder, placing each child at the centre of their learning journey.

Our approach draws inspiration from well-established early years philosophies, including Reggio Emilia, Montessori and Steiner, while remaining firmly rooted in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This allows us to offer a modern, child-centred curriculum that supports curiosity, creativity and confidence.

By following children’s interests, learning styles and developmental needs, we create learning experiences that feel purposeful and engaging. Natural and open-ended resources are used to encourage children to investigate, explore, problem-solve and think deeply, supporting learning across all areas of development.

Our curriculum fully meets the requirements of the EYFS and supports children’s progress across the seven areas of learning. As referenced in the Education Inspection Framework, it is our role to help children experience the awe and wonder of the world around them through rich learning opportunities and thoughtful adult support.
